If you’re not getting emails sent by BCT and you opted out of emails from either of Base Camp Trading's email addresses, contact our support team and request that you're opted back in so you won't miss your important alerts and messages.
If you haven't opted out of emails, please check that your ISP's (Internet Service Provider's) spam filters aren't preventing the emails from reaching you. Note that some email providers are pickier about emails than others, and many users prefer to use a more open email provider such as Gmail to help assure that emails reach them.
Many ISPs allow users to whitelist specific addresses to help emails make it through their spam filters. The steps to do this vary by ISP. Some ISPs ask that you add your contacts' email addresses to allow them through.
IMPORTANT: When you create the contacts for the two email addresses, please make sure you do so at the ISP level in addition to your desktop or phone email client. The filtering is likely happening at the server and not even reaching your email client, so whitelisting it there may not have any effect. Generally, you'll want to log into the website for your mail, such as outlook.com or yahoo.com, and look for a way to create a contact on that page. Create a contact for each of our two sending email addresses.
Here are some ISP-specific whitelisting steps, but keep in mind that these steps can change, so if these steps don’t seem to apply or don’t work, feel free to search the web or check with your ISP to get the latest instructions on how to whitelist for your ISP.
Important: The email addresses that you want to whitelist are:
support@basecamptrading.com
and
support@basecamptrader.com
Note: If whitelisting the addresses doesn't work, or if you've tried many approaches and it still doesn't work, consider taking a different approach as defined in this knowledgebase article.
If you use a web-based email system like Gmail along with a tool like Microsoft Mail or Outlook, you may want to whitelist them in both of those systems. And when a message does get put into a Spam folder, always mark it as NOT spam before you move it back to the inbox. Another thing to try in Gmail (or in other email systems that support it) is to create a rule that intercepts the messages to prevent their being classified as spam. In Gmail, these are called Filters. If a sender address is found within a filter that keeps it in the inbox, it might keep it out of spam. Gmail even has a "Never send it to Spam" filter option that may be helpful.
Gmail
For Gmail, you can create two new contacts on the gmail.com webpage, one for each email address. You can add each of the two contacts via the Contacts button as pointed to by the red arrow in the image, below. They will be recognized as an allowed address in your contacts. If that doesn't work, you can try the steps in this article to create a filter (rule).
Comcast (Xfinity)
- Sign in to your My XFINITY account.
- At the top right, click the Mail icon to reach your inbox.
- Click the Address Book tab.
- Click New Contact on the left sidebar.
- Add the sender’s email address.
- Click Save to save the contact.
Yahoo
Log into the web-based yahoo mail (HTTPS://mail.yahoo.com)
- In the upper right, click on the contacts link (it's a small button beneath your name), as outlined in red in the image below:
- Click on the three-dot menu and select Add a new contact from the popup menu, shown circled in red
- A new contact entry form will appear. Enter something in the First Name field, and in the email field, enter support@basecamptrading.com, as shown in the following image. Click on the Save button to complete the contact.
- Repeat these steps to create a second new contact, this time with the email address support@basecamptrader.com
Hotmail
- Choose Settings, then Options.
- In the left pane, choose Junk Email, then Safe Senders.
- In the box, enter the email addresses or domains you want to whitelist, and select the Add button.
- Click Save
Cox.net
For Cox.net, the ability to whitelist email addresses is disabled by default. You'll need to enable advanced blocking features under Settings / Allow Blocked Messages before you can whitelist the addresses on their webmail service page. You can see the Advanced Blocking Features settings in the image, below. Enable Activate advanced blocking features, and then in the Exception List section, add the whitelisted email addresses.
