It's possible that a blank screen appearing after clicking the Launch Trading Room button is caused by overzealous filters in the browser or in antivirus software. Make sure that you're allowing cookies to be set for the site (see the quick fix for Chrome users, below). In some cases, adding the website to the "Allow" list of sites for a browser like Chrome will help. If trying this fix, you can add the basecamptrading.com site, as well as the site that hosts the live trading room software, which is https://protradingroom.com/
Quick Fix for Chrome users
A quick fix for some Chrome users is to click on the eye icon that appears at the far right of Chrome's address bar. It appears to the right of the magnifying glass, as shown in the following image:
Click on the eye, which may have a slash through it indicating that Third Party Cookies are being blocked) and in the popup that appears, choose the option to enable the cookies for this site. Then check if you can view the trading room site's content.
If that didn't work, or you aren't using Chrome or Edge
If you're still unable to access the live trading rooms, including if you're using a browser other than Chrome or Edge, there are some other things to try. Here's a list of other things that typically block a user's access to the live trading room:
- VPN is on and is restricting access
- A Firewall is restricting access (e.g. McAfee, Norton's or other virus / malware web protections)
- An ad blocker is blocking the audio/video (or an HTML5 blocker)
- For Mac Users only: Using a browser other than Safari (Chrome, Firefox, etc. may not work in iOS)
If you're comfortable in doing so, try disabling these features one by one to see if any are the cause. Mac users should try to access the room using Safari if they were using another browser. If you are able to determine the cause, you may be able to identify a way to create an exception within that tool's settings to allow protradingroom.com and/or basecamptrading.com as an exception site.
You can also try using the trading room app to connect to the rooms. Search for Bellesoft as the vendor to find the app you need, and select the V3 version if more than one is present. You may find you're able to connect to the rooms with the app. There are other knowledge base articles to help with setting up and configuring the app.
If you're using a WiFi connection, you may want to try using a cell phone connection to see if the non-WiFi network can get through. To do this, from a cell-enabled device, make sure WiFi is disabled so you're using your cell network, and try connecting either using the app or the browser on your mobile device. If this works, remember that some networks have additional charges and data limitations that wouldn't apply to regular WiFi connections. Be mindful of any charges or data caps that might be involved. Some phones and computer setups allow you to use your cell phone as a hotspot via Bluetooth or some other type of connection, and you may be able to use your phone as your internet source rather than your home router. If you can reach the live trading room from your cell, then it's likely there's some limitation happening on your local WiFi network or computer that is preventing access.
Trying another browser
If you haven't yet tried using a different browser, that's something that has worked in the past. That is, if you're a Chrome or Edge user, trying Firefox may help.
Still Stuck?
You can reach out to protradingroom.com support for further assistance. You can reach their site at https://protradingroom.com/ and look for the Support chat box in the lower right of the screen. If you don't see the chat box, make sure any blockers or pop-up preventers are disabled and refresh the page.
Still not connecting?
If that's not successful, let us know and we'll see if we can help further.
