You may have noticed that in TradeStation 10, the window controls at the upper-right of all windows may disappear. That makes it difficult to maximize, minimize, or restore the window. This knowledge base article shows you how to get your window controls to re-appear. If you prefer to keep them hidden, here's a couple of alternate ways to temporarily regain access to the controls.
Here's one quick way to get the controls without the buttons. Realizing that it's still a window with controls, we can use an alternate method to access them. If you hover near the very top of the window so that your cursor turns into an arrow "plus sign", you can then right-click at this small window title area and you'll see several windows options as shown below. Choose the action you want. In the following example, Close is being selected. You'll know you're on the very thing title bar of the window when you see the small up/down left/right arrow icon.
TradeStation has a special double-right-click feature to maximize and minimize a chart window, but it's disabled by default. To enable it, right-click on an empty area of a chart, select Settings, then Preferences, as outlined in red in the following image:
Then, under the General tab, make sure that Enable right-button double click is checked, as shown in the following image. Click OK to save the settings.
Once enabled, double right-clicks will toggle the chart window's Maximize / Restore option, allowing you to enlarge a chart to full screen and then restore it to its original size.
Note that enabling the double right-click feature doesn't prevent the single right-click feature from working; it's used to bring up the context-sensitive menu in TradeStation, which is related to whatever you right-clicked.
* It appears that the window controls are still there, but are not visible. If you know where to click without seeing them, they will work. If you accidentally minimize a window, you can reopen it by clicking on it under the Window menu
