In TradingView, there may be some instances where price becomes compressed because an indicator's plot is trying to be included on the screen. A plot that's far from price would need to have price compressed in order to squeeze that distant plot on the chart. This can also happen when an indicator draws a zero value in error, and then the value of zero is forced to compress price to include zero on the y-axis.
To avoid this problem, right-click on the y-axis, and ensure that Scale price chart only option is selected, with a check mark in front of it, as shown in the following image. This will scale the y-axis to the high/low range of the currently displayed price bars rather than compressing to fit any distant indicator plots.
