How do I unzip or uncompress a zip file in Mac OS?

In Mac OS, you can decompress a zipped file by double-clicking on it.  This should create a new folder  containing the decompressed files, with same name as the zip file, in the same directory with the .zip file  For more information, see the following link from Mac support
