MQ Trend has several inputs, and many users would like to know what these values refer to. We almost always use this indicator with its default settings. We always leave Price set at close, and the Green and Red color inputs can be changed to other colors, though we always keep them at their defaults, too.
The numeric inputs have to do with the internals of how MQ Trend works. Length refers to an EMA length (number of bars), and the ATRLength determines how many bars back to use in calculating the ATR. If you increase these values, it takes a greater number of bars into account for a longer-term perspective. The ATR_Mult is how far from price the initial dots are placed when trend changes from bullish to bearish and vice-versa. Again, if you want a longer-term approach, you can increase that value.
Again, Thomas and Dave almost NEVER change these values - they leave them at their default settings. The default values were tuned properly at launch, and apply equally well across various timeframes.
If you want to learn more about how MQ Trend is used, you can find the videos where both Thomas and Dave discussed its use in the following KB article. The time stamps below each video in the article show the time that the discussion on the indicator begins.
