If you're trying to speed up your orders in thinkorswim, you may want to contact thinkorswim support to see if they can help you optimize your system to speed up orders in general.
For the fastest way to trade, consider using the Active Trader function with pre-saved templates. The ActiveTrader is similar to a DOM or ladder offered on other platforms. You can enter the symbol, which should stay there through platform restarts. There is an autosend option box that you can check that avoids a confirmation dialog so the order is sent immediately, speeding up the process. There are also large buttons to immediately cancel or flatten your position, etc.
You can configure a template to do 1, 2 or 3 bracketed orders, each with its own stop or target. You can easily switch between saved templates, though you do need to make sure the qty is set appropriately to have enough contracts purchased for the template (e.g. at least 3 if using 3 targets).
Clicking in the bid or ask column of the ladder immediately places the order with the bracket condition you specified above the price ladder (a confirmation is provided if autosend is not checked).
The target and stop offsets can be specified in terms of dollar, percent or ticks. Specifying in ticks is very convenient for futures, and can allow switching between symbols when using the same tick distances.
Once in place, you can adjust stops and/or targets by selecting the order indicators and sliding them up/down the ladder. You can also set up an OCO order if you find that you're in a position without any orders in place and you want to use an OCO bracket.
Below is an example of a qty 2 2-bracket order, one with a target at +10 ticks, another with a target of +20 ticks, both with OCO stops at 10 ticks. The target and stops once placed can be adjusted by clicking and sliding them, as stated above.
Practice its use in paper mode to learn how it works. Using ActiveTrader may not fully address any general slowness that the platform may be having, but it's one of the fastest ways to get orders placed in TOS.

Note: You can use the ladder to trade any symbol, even options. Just put the option ticker into the symbol box and you can trade options as you would stocks or futures.
