The PTR Alerts app can be used to get notified of any broadcasted alerts created in the rooms. You can find other knowledge base articles that show how these can be installed by searching the knowledge base for alert app .
You want to first verify that you're running the correct version of the PTR Alerts app. If the room is running Version 3 of the trading room software, then you'll want to be using Version 3 of the Pro Trading Room apps. You can view the trading room version by clicking on the option "hamburger" menu (3 short horizontal stacked lines in the upper-left corner of the trading room). The version number of the trading room software will appear. Version 3 of the trading room will appear with a 3 as the first part of the number as shown in the following image:
if you see version 3, then you'll need to make sure you're using Version 3 of the PTR Alerts app. The easiest way to reach the correct app is by clicking on the Mobile App Info button that appears (shown in the above image), and then selecting the Google or Apple app store for your device. For example, here's the V3 app for Android devices:
If you see Version 2 of the Trading Room
First, make sure that you're running the correct version of the Alerts app. The vendor (Bellesoft) offers two versions: version 2.x and version 3.x. Version 3 shows a V3 in the icon image, and will not work until the trading room site version is upgraded to version 3.x. You can identify which version of the software is running on our site by opening the trading room and clicking on the three horizontal lines at the upper left, as shown in the following image outlined in red at top left. The version number appears below that, as circled in red in the image, just above the Mobile App Info button. If the version number is 2.x, then use Version 2 of the PTR Alerts app, and use the V3 alerts app if it's version 3.x or higher.
If you've used the app in the past, and it's no longer providing alerts, there are a few things you can do to get it working again.
Use the BCT Website to log into the trading room you want access to. If you use both rooms, log into each of them. And by the way, to avoid losing access to the alerts in the app, it helps to occasionally log back into the room, say, once per month. This doesn't have to be while the room is running, it could be at night, when there's no broadcast. And you can even do this from your mobile device. This recognizes your email as an authorized user of the service.
Then try opening PTR Alerts (the Pro Trading Room ALERTER app) on your mobile device. You may see a screen asking for your email and a room code. If you don't have the code handy, enter your email and click the button to request the code. Alternatively, you can log into the live trading room from a browser and click on the phone icon at the upper left of the room screen (and then the Mobile App tab) to see the room number and your pin. If you requested your credentials via email, check your email to get the code and pin. Enter the code in the PTR Alerts app, then click on the Synch all Available Rooms. You should then find the alerts under the Alerts section of the app, and you'll again be getting the alerts on your phone while the app is running.
If that doesn't work, try re-establishing the connection from the room-viewing PTR app. Use the Pro Trading Room room viewing app to log into each of the rooms you want to get alerts from. Then back in the PTRAlerts app, press the Sync All Available Rooms button on the app. If you see the new alerts appearing under the Alerts button on that app, then it's likely resolved.
If not, then you can try to uninstall both of the apps, and then reinstall them. You can find the app under the name PTR Alerts, or Pro Trading Room Alerts, or look under the software maker, Bellesoft Consulting Corp. If you have trouble finding it, log into either of the trading rooms, and click on the phone icon at the upper left of the room and you'll see a button that will take you directly to the app for the app store for your phone.
Reinstall the alerter app, which you should find by entering the name of the provider (Bellesoft Consulting Corp), and open the app. Enter the email that you use to log into the Base Camp Trading website, which is the same used to log into the trading rooms. Click on the link to email me my pin. Enter the emailed pin into the app, to complete the login. Then check the Alerts button to see if recent alerts appear in the history.
if this doesn't resolve the issue, then you can contact the makers of the Pro Trading Room software for assistance (it's not a BCT application, so there's only so much we can do to help). Visit the website, https://protradingroom.com/, and look for a Customer Service window at the bottom right. That's a live chat box where you can interact with the company support team. If you don't see the chat box, then make sure any popup or other type of website-blocking tool is disabled and reload the page. They should be able to help you resolve the issue.
