We often reference the old Pit Hours used for Futures contracts as the Old “Ghost Pit Hours”. These hours are sometimes known as "Cash" hours or "Regular Trading Hours", abbreviated as RTH. Some may refer to this time as the "Open Outcry" period. Here’s a list of the old pit hours, by contract. We often see increased volume during these times, even though the trade pits themselves have long been gone.
Note that the "start time" for Regular Trading Hours (RTH) for US stocks is 9:30 AM ET.
